MISSION Statement

The mission of The Parenting Center, a proud part of the Upper Merion Area School District, is to provide families with a strong foundation for nurturing and developing their children to their fullest potential; for assisting their children to enter school with a readiness to learn; and for preparing their children to be productive contributors to the community at large.

The Parenting Center provides families a safe, caring environment for learning, growth and change.  Families are strengthened by acquiring essential skills and effective principles for successful parenting.  In our center, parents have the opportunity to learn about their children’s needs.

In small group discussions led by trained facilitators, parents are encouraged to share their concerns, questions and successes regarding parenting issues.  Information concerning child development and ways to create strong family bonds is a center point for discussion groups.  Parents are supported in their parenting goals, while preschool children who accompany their parents engage in supervised activities.
